Navigating the production process can be one of the most overwhelming parts of launching a beauty brand.

Start by selecting a reliable manufacturer who shares your commitment to quality and innovation. Establishing a clear line of communication is essential to ensure your vision is accurately reflected in the final product. Interview 3-5 manufacturers and visit them in person if you can. Discuss production timelines, costs, and any potential challenges upfront.
To help you get the conversation started, here are some questions to ask potential manufacturers.
What is your Minimum Order Quantity (MOQ) for new products?
What are your payment terms?
How flexible are you with formulation changes or custom formulations?
Can you provide samples for quality testing, and what are the associated costs?
Do you offer assistance with packaging, labeling, and regulatory compliance?
Can you source sustainable or ethically sourced ingredients?
What are the shipping options and associated costs for finished products?
What is the process if there’s an issue or delay with production?
What testing do you perform on products (e.g., stability, microbiological testing)?
How do you handle ingredient shortages or supply chain disruptions?
